In General
Because of the vast range of our customers are using Siemens Automation, our engineers are involved primarily in Simatic solutions. We are however able to tackle various other systems (old and new) such as Allen Bradely, GEM, SATT, Omron, GE etc., and can also work with various distrubted I/O systems such as Profibus, ET200x, Bosch, Rexroth, Interbus etc. These are the most common systems that we have been involved with to date but by no means include the whole range. From our experience we are able to work with even the most obsolete systems even with restricted knowledge of how they are currently working. In the field of industrial software, we are learning about new technologies every day, so why not learn about old ones?
Consultancy
Generally, we can provide a third party overview on new or existing systems. We can inform you on the best practice for the design, development and/or installation of industrial software on your plant. Our range of ever developing ideas enables you to achieve these best software solutions and to achieve maximum operator efficiencies.
Design
All control systems need to be designed on paper first. Our functional design specifications are very clear, concise documents allowing personnel from every engineering background to understand and contribute at the design phase, reducing or eliminating any obvious omissions. The documents are also written in a format so that any HAZOP (hazardous operation study) can be easily adapted. In our eyes design is the critical part of any project resulting in a low-budget, on-time success or a high-cost, late failure.
Our software design is based upon a standard structure, tried and tested over many industries and many applications. Having a pre-determined design enables us to produce low cost software solutions. In addition it makes it easy for our engineers to understand each others work and to be able to man-up on systems where before it would be impossible. This standard structure is also very maintenance friendly allowing your own maintenance engineers to become quickly competent in diagnosing plant issues from the programming terminal and ultimately reducing costs in specialist technical call outs.
Simulation
All of our newly developed software is simulated using the latest PC based simulation technologies. These simulators are very cheap, quick and easy to setup. Ultimately the software can be Factory and Customer Acceptance Tested to the nth degree, and in conjunction with our extensive visual diagnostic system it becomes very easy and fast to complete.
Installation & Commissioning
We understand that plant downtime is one of the biggest problems when it comes to installations. For this reason we have developed various methods in achieving installations in the smallest possible time and with the least amount of disruption to the plant. By using current technologies, such as Wi-Fi for example, we can also reduce the man-power used in installation and commissioning and as such reduce the overall cost to you.
Reverse Engineering
So, how do you replace or upgrade that 20 year old control system with little or no documentation? This is a recurring problem from most of our existing customers. Our engineers are able to retrieve the software from the existing PLCs and produce a current FDS (functional design specification). This will allow you to see what existing problems there are, what potential you have for modifications and whether a complete replacement is needed. Carrying out this work for our customers has greatly reduced potential upgrade costs which ultimately can't be a bad thing.
